What We Believe

2.png

The Bible

The Bible is God's Word to us. Because God is not capable of making mistakes, His Word contains no error. The Bible is our rule and authority for how we live (1 Thessalonians 2:13).

Jesus, the Son

Everything was created by Jesus, through Jesus, and for Jesus (Colossians 1:16). He is fully God and fully human (Philippians 2:5-7). He came to save the world (John 3:17) and was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:20-23). Jesus died on a cross, rose from the dead (Matthew 27-28), and ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9).

Salvation

By dying on the cross and rising from the grave, Jesus made a trade with us. He took our sin and death, and He gave us His righteousness and eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:54-56, Colossians 2:13-14). This eternal life is a free gift of God's grace, not something we can earn or work for (Ephesians 2:8-9).

The Trinity

God is One (Deuteronomy 6:4), and God is three (Matthew 3:16-17). These Three-In-One are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin (John 16:7-11), comforts and helps (John 14:26), regenerates (Titus 3:4-7), indwells (John 14:16-17), seals us for salvation and eternally secures us (Ephesians 1:13-14), baptizes (1 Corinthians 12:13), fills (Ephesians 5:18-21), and gives spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

The Church

God established the church to tell the world about His good news of salvation (Matthew 28:19-20). The church has Christians of every color, gender, age, language, culture, level of education, and socio-economic standing (Revelation 7:9-10).

3.png

God the Father

God is love (1 John 4:8). God is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). God is eternal (Psalm 90:2). God sent His Son, Jesus, to save the world (John 3:16).

6.png

Humanity

God created people in His image (Genesis 1:26-27). Sin is breaking God’s law (1 John 3:4) and therefore our relationship with Him is broken. Death came into the world through the first sin by Adam and Eve (Romans 5:12). We are all individually responsible for our sin (Romans 3:10-18, 23).

The Future

There are a lot of things we don't know about the future, but some things are certain. Heaven is real and eternal (Revelation 21-22). Hell is real and eternal (Revelation 20:13-15). And Jesus is coming back one day (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18).
